Windows Live Messenger 2009
Anyone get it yet?

I've looked at it and it seems pretty nice, I like the favourite contacts feature and the new re-design to make it a bit more Windows 7-ish, but hey, it's been pretty nice so far.

RE: Windows Live Messenger 2009
I've really been put off by the new versions of messenger, I don't really find the ads appealing on it when I'm trying to have a conversation. I also don't like the fact that every time I run messenger, that it automatically adds itself to my start up programs on boot.

Haven't got it yet, but those ads do get annoying.

Eh...Messenger gets updated so much and so fast that I'm still using a version that is almost 3 times lower than the current one! Haha!

Agreed...the ads are irritating, but the adding itself to startup all the time is what really pisses me off.

RE: Windows Live Messenger 2009
Microsoft has been going very ad-oriented, just look at a standard Hotmail email message.

Isn't that the sad truth. They always put some kind of B.S. at the end of every e-mail.

RE: Windows Live Messenger 2009
I hate the new version. I have a couple of computers that I'm holding back on the old version because the new one is so bad.

There's no one thing that stands out (off the top of my head) though.
