What exactly is SEO and how do you maximise it's effectiveness?

SEO is called Search Engine Optimization, and all it is really is the business of getting your site up on top of the search engine listings, therefore, when more people search a keyword, they'll see your site up on top, therefore, more traffic. It's as simple as that.

You summed up what the basic premise of SEO is but its harder to actually do it

Hey! It's not as simple as that! In a keyword that has high search query, you need to fight for over 1M (or more!) competitors using also the same KW and struggling to be at top. Plus, SE algorithm is changing from time to time.... So if you don't know how to GO with the FLOW, you can't survive SE war...

But that is one good thing about SE algorithm: its very mysterious and challenging.

What is the article submission and Press release. Is it a part of Seo?
